On filigree:
Filigree was born in Upper Mesopotamia around 3000 BC and, as its name suggests, is a type of handicraft made with wires. Although each region’s filigree has its own subtleties and differences, in general terms filigree is created by twisting and crushing micron-thick silver or gold wires in a cylinder, then compressing them in harmony inside a very thin metal frame and welding them.
Sky Blue on Topaz:
Blue is a color that reduces stress, provides calmness, is thought to slow down the metabolism, and symbolizes more freedom as its tone gets lighter. In most cultures, blue is believed to ward off evil spirits, increase insight and help the mind concentrate. According to Hindu traditions, blue is the color of the throat chakra, so Hindus believe that wearing blue near the neck strengthens a person’s communication, gives the feeling of confidence you need to make your voice heard, and is even an incredible healer for the head, throat and neck area. Blue topaz stones are said to encourage self-expression, improve communication skills and bring a sense of calm and serenity to their wearers.
The sky blue topaz crystals that play with light have an energy you can't turn down. Sky Blue Topaz is known for its cooling, calming energy and makes a perfect winter birthday gift because it resembles ice crystals with the color of the sky reflected on it.
